A fresh announcement over a series of upcoming alterations to the Premier League’s fixture list marks an altogether considerable development for the Fantasy Premier League community.
The Covid-19 pandemic and its heavy impact on squads across the English football landscape of course saw Premier League officials left with no choice but to postpone a whole host of top-flight fixtures late last year and into the beginning of 2022.
This, in turn, has left the division looking altogether unbalanced, with some clubs having played out as many as 25 games, whilst other lag behind on just 21.
Such leftover fixtures, as a result, will soon need to be played out, to ensure that the Premier League season does not drag on several weeks beyond its scheduled conclusion date.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday evening, six such fixtures have been afforded a new date, with three others, too, having been moved.
In a post across their social media platforms and official website, the Premier League announced the following alterations to the schedule for March:
Thursday 10 March
19:30 Southampton v Newcastle
19:30 Wolves v Watford
19:45 Leeds v Aston Villa (Prime Video)
Sunday 13 March
14:00 Everton v Wolves*
14:00 Leeds v Norwich*
14:00 Southampton v Watford*
*Moved from 12 March because one team play on 10 March
Wednesday 16 March
19:30 Brighton v Spurs
20:15 Arsenal v Liverpool (Sky Sports)
Thursday 17 March
19:45 Everton v Newcastle (Prime Video)
Arsenal and more in line for double
Such changes, in turn, will have a telling effect on the popular Fantasy Premier League game, too.
This comes with a whole host of players now in line for extra points opportunities, courtesy of imminent Double Gameweeks.
Week 28, for example, will see all of Aston Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Southampton, Wolves and Watford take to the pitch not once, but twice.
The ensuing fixture list, meanwhile, features double opportunities for stars from all of Arsenal, Brighton, Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham:
