Tottenham boss Antonio Conte could be reunited with Inter Milan centre-back Stefan de Vrij after the north Londoners apparently made a convincing pitch to sign him. Conte worked with de Vrij for two seasons during his spell in charge at the San Siro.
Spurs appointed Conte as their new boss in November after they sacked Nuno Espirito Santo.
And the 52-year-old made an instant impact in the capital as his side remained unbeaten in his first nine Premier League matches at the helm.
But the wheels have come off in recent weeks and Tottenham have now lost three top flight matches on the bounce.
After being defeated 2-0 by Chelsea in January, Spurs blew a 2-1 lead against Southampton last week as they went on to lose 3-2.
And on Sunday, Conte’s side were embarrassed at home by Wolves as they were outplayed during a 2-0 reverse.

But Spurs would apparently need to stump up around £25million to sign the 30-year-old, with Inter being tipped to replace him with Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer.
De Vrij’s previous experience of working with Conte might just tempt the defender to move to Spurs in the summer.
But Barcelona are apparently interested in securing his signature as well.
The Catalan giants are reportedly close to signing a mega-money sponsorship deal with Spotify and could therefore have some cash to splash after being forced to rein in their spending after taking a financial hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
