PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has come in for criticism due to his use of Lionel Messi.
PSG would face off with Rennes on Friday evening, winning the tie 1-0 thanks to a late Kylian Mbappe goal.
It was by no means Messi’s finest display and now, Canal+ analyst Pierre Menes has voiced his concern on how Mauricio Pochettino has handled the positioning of Messi in the clash against Rennes, stating: “I thought that Pochettino understood after the match against Lille that Messi was better in a more advanced position.
“But no, not at all. He made him play again in a leading position, sometimes on the right, sometimes on the left, sometimes in the middle…essentially, in a position where he clearly no longer has the physicality to dominate the game.
“At his age and with his talent in front of goal, he would be much more useful to PSG. But hey, I’m not the PSG coach.”

PSG vs Real Madrid
PSG’s next outing sees them return to action on Tuesday evening in a Champions League clash.
The French powerhouse will face Real Madrid in the first of two round of 16 ties at 8 pm UK time.
With the Champions League the only major trophy to elude PSG since their takeover, they will of course be desperate to progress into the quarter-finals.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are still on course to clinch both the Champions League and La Liga this term.
