Paul Pogba is not prepared to rule out the possibility of staying at Manchester United beyond the end of the season, according to reports. The 28-year-old will be a free agent in the summer as things stand and is said to be a target for Paris Saint-Germain, who have been tipped to make an expensive offer to secure his services over the coming months.
Pogba has reportedly been locked in contract talks with United chiefs since the beginning of the season but has failed to agree fresh terms as of yet.
The Frenchman is now heading into the final four months of his current deal at Old Trafford with his immediate future still no closer to being resolved.
He has been free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club since the turn of the year but is yet to make a concrete decision on whether or not to seek a new challenge.
PSG have been credited with a long-standing interest in Pogba and were said to have considered making a bid for the playmaker during last year’s summer transfer window.
They are now believed to be weighing up a lucrative offer to bring the United man back to his home country ahead of next season.
However, it seems as though Pogba is not looking to rush the process and would rather take stock of every option available to him before making any long-term commitments.
He is prepared to wait until the end of the season before deciding whether to leave United in search of pastures new, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that Pogba has been waiting to make a firm call on his future in order to focus on his recovery from a long-term thigh injury that was sustained back in November.
He is yet to close the door on the idea of extending his stay at United but could also be tempted by PSG, who are said to be preparing a big-money offer to snap him up on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also believed to be keeping tabs on Pogba’s situation and could make proposals of their own in the not-too-distant future.
His decision could soon be put on hold once again, though, as he gears up for the business end of the season with United.
It is said that Pogba remains determined to help the Red Devils to a top-four finish in the Premier League and will not allow himself to be distracted by his ongoing contract dilemma.
However, former United midfielder Sammy McIlroy recently warned that Pogba’s situation has the potential to create further unrest in a squad that already looks to be plagued by internal discontent.

“I have to admit I’m a bit confused by the Pogba situation, hearing [Ralf] Rangnick come out and say that he will still play a big part,” McIlroy told the Talk of the Devils podcast last month.
“Pogba, when he’s in form, is world class. There’s no doubt about that, but if his heart isn’t in the club…
“I can understand a manager wanting to play his best players, but it’s about tomorrow as much as today.
“What will the supporters think watching a player trying to earn a contract elsewhere? What will other players be thinking, those who have a long-term commitment to the club?
“Will they be happy to see their place in the team go to him?”
