Manchester United have been dealt some concerning news on the personnel front on Monday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Fred turned up to Man United’s training base before then leaving just 20 minutes later.
No official explanation was given at the time, but it did not bode well for the midfielder given it is the day before a game.
Now, an official explanation for Fred’s early dismissal from Carrington has been provided.
As per Sky Sports News, both Alex Telles and Fred will miss Manchester United’s fixture against Burnley after returning positive test results for COVID-19.

Burnley vs Manchester United
Manchester United will face off with Burnley on Tuesday the 8th of February at 8 pm UK time.
The tie is a Premier League clash and a must-win for the Red Devils.
Man United are 4th in the Premier League right now, but both Arsenal and Tottenham can overtake them and knock them out of the Champions League places by winning games in hand.
And with a much tougher set of games to come for the Red Devils, they really need to pick up three points vs a struggling Burnley.
Sean Dyche’s side are currently sat dead bottom of the Premier League with 19 games played. They have won just one league game all season and have scored just 16 goals – the lowest in the division right now.
However, the Clarets could escape the relegation zone if they win their games in hand.
