Manchester United go into tonight’s match with Brighton seeking a return to winning ways. The Red Devils have toiled of late, slumping to disappointing stalemates against Burnley and Southampton. So, with Ralf Rangnick’s team in dire need of all three points, Express Sport looks at the four changes he could make to try and secure victory.

Lindelof for Maguire

Victor Lindelof was becoming a first-choice centre-back for United again prior to a break-in at his home.

The Sweden international has since been sidelined with illness but, now, he’s fully recovered and ready to start games again.

With Harry Maguire’s form suffering, it’s possible the former Benfica star will be reinstated to the club’s starting XI.

Lindelof is nicknamed the ‘Iceman’ by his team-mates because he’s cool under pressure.

And United need everybody to keep their heads as they look to avoid going a third Premier League match without a win, something that seemed unfeasible at the start of the campaign.

Elanga for Rashford

Marcus Rashford has struggled all season long.

And while his body language on the field has improved recently, his performances are still leaving plenty to be desired.

Rashford, despite his assist, failed to make his mark against Southampton with the England international putting in a subdued display.

With Jadon Sancho shining on the opposite flank, United could make a change on the left wing as they look for a winning formula.

Rangnick has been impressed by Anthony Elanga so far, with the Sweden international ready to start the game and seize any opportunity to play.

Rangnick sets target

Rangnick has challenged his United players to secure Champions League football for next season ahead of their showdown with Brighton.

“Right now, this is exactly what Man United needs to want, to finish fourth in the league. I think this is the highest possible achievement that we can get,” he said.

“There’s no other things – yes, the Champions League, hoping to proceed to the next round of the Champions League, it’s also not an easy one – but in the league currently, it’s top four that’s our ambition, this is what we have to achieve and what we are aiming at.

“And about next season, yes, obviously, after being here for 10 or 11 weeks, of course, I know what it takes for next season, but it’s not the time now to discuss this with anyone, my full focus is on tomorrow, and then Sunday, and then Wednesday in the Champions League. And the next couple of weeks.

“I think this is the only thing to deal with in the current situation, full focus on the current squad, getting the best out of this season and then, after that, there is time to speak about the next steps for the next season or the next couple of years.”
