Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes insists it is a ‘pleasure’ to be rank alongside Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in a couple of key statistics. The midfielder ranks highly in plenty of attacking areas despite the Red Devils’ inconsistent form this season.
Fernandes has assisted 12 times across all competitions this term, in addition to his five Premier League goals.
Reds star Salah tops the scoring charts in the top-flight. The Egyptian has struck 16 times and has another eight in the Champions League.
The pair are level in terms of big chances created in the Premier League.
Fernandes and Salah have both created 12 big chances – one behind Salah’s Liverpool team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 27-year-old playmaker has managed those numbers despite his United side experiencing a turbulent campaign.
They are fourth in the Premier League after a slightly improved period of form under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
Fernandes scored the second goal in United’s 2-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday, with countryman Cristiano Ronaldo ending a six-game goal drought.
And the former Sporting Lisbon man has spoken of the pride of managing to keep up with the likes of Salah and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

“It’s obviously an honour to be on that list, of course, since I came and being in comparison with Harry Kane, scoring lots of goals last season and he was playmaker of the season by one assist.
“Mo Salah has been fantastic, scoring lots of goals. So being in that list with him for goal involvements, goals and assists or whatever, is always a pleasure.
“It makes you proud of what you are doing as I know there’s much more to come yet.”
United face rivals Leeds on Sunday – against whom Fernandes bagged an opening day hat-trick in a 5-1 thrashing.
