There is a lifelong debate in English football about who was the best out of those three players, with players, pundits and fans alike rarely coming to an agreement on who was the best overall.

But the Argentine has picked Lampard, who had a spell alongside Chelsea’s all-time top goalscorer at City, as the best of the trio in a live Q&A on Twitter.

The pair played together for City in the 2014-15 season as they finished behind Lampard’s former club Chelsea in the title race.

They were also knocked out in the fourth rounds of both domestic cups and endured a disappointing Champions League campaign with a last-16 exit to Barcelona.

But Lampard’s efforts at the Etihad Stadium were still enough for him to rank at the top of Aguero’s list.
