Liverpool is set to clash with Brendan Rodgers’ foundering Leicester City at Anfield tomorrow evening, with the anticipated Premier League debut of January signing Luis Díaz as one of the key talking points on Merseyside.
Díaz has already made his debut for the Reds in a 32-minute cameo against Cardiff when Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners against the Championship outfit and now looks primed for a full debut for his new employers against the Foxes given that Sadio Mané is still unavailable after helping Senegal lift their first-ever African Cup of Nations trophy.

And the 25-year-old Colombian international has made known his initial impressions of the club and his new teammates before his official introduction to the Premier League, with his father – Luis Manuel Díaz – shedding light on the players’ opinion when speaking with Colombian radio outlet Bluradio: “After the first game, he told me that it was a team that works hard, complete, in which he will feel comfortable and will have the chance to play with high-performance players.”
Jürgen Klopp & Harvey Elliot left excited by Díaz
Luis Díaz was not the only one left impressed during the early days after his arrival from Portuguese giants FC Porto, with Reds starlet Harvey Elliot giving a glaring report on the Colombian in the wake of the weekend FA Cup triumph: “You can see that he’s got exceptional talent and he’s a top guy as well. We’re all around him, supporting him and we’re all there if he needs. I’m sure he will show what he’s about, he showed glimpses today.”
“To come on next to him was a proud moment for myself as well because he’s, in my opinion, a world-class player. He’s only going to get better playing for Liverpool, playing in front of these fans. o come on next to him was a proud moment for myself as well because he’s, in my opinion, a world-class player. Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp spoke similarly about Díaz when he reflected on the players’ happiness and work ethic in training while judging his contributions in his FA Cup cameo to be a harbinger of things to come.
It looks just about nailed-on that Díaz will make his full league debut against Leicester and many Reds faithful will undoubtedly hope that it will be one for the highlight reels.
