The Lille forward has grown a reputation as one of the most promising young forwards in France.
Two-footed and able to play on either side, through the middle or even as a second striker, David has scored 12 goals in 24 Ligue 1 games this term.
He also has an excellent record of 20 goals in 27 caps for the Canada national team and has attracted interest from several clubs, including Arsenal.
David’s agent, Nick Movromanos, has confirmed that his client will leave Lille at the end of the season, meaning Liverpool could make a swoop for him should they wish to.
“For us, the goal is to finish the season in Lille, but it will be his last season there for several reasons,” Mavromaras told Radio Canada in December.
“I think the Premier League is a good option for him. I think that he likes Spain a lot also because he likes the feeling of the ball and the very technical players.”
