The English Football Association are ready to open an investigation into an incident involving the home support in attendance at Leeds United’s meeting with Manchester United earlier today.
The moment in question came twenty minutes from time, amid the Red Devils’ celebrations following Fred’s go-ahead goal.
As Ralf Rangnick’s stars came together towards the touchline, youngster Anthony Elanga, introduced to proceedings only a short time prior, suddenly went to ground holding his head.
Upon replays being broadcast, in turn, it quickly became clear that the Swede had been struck by an object thrown from the stands, understood to have come in the form of a coin:

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday night is anything to go by, then it appears as though the individual responsible could yet be made to pay for his actions.
As per reliable outlet The Athletic:
It’s understood that the FA is aware of the incident and will investigate further.

Maguire amongst the goals
The ugly incident involving Elanga aside, it of course proved a fine day’s work for Manchester United at Elland Road on Sunday.
This comes with the Red Devils having ultimately emerged on the right side of a 4-2 scoreline, owing to goals on the part of all of Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Fred and the aforementioned Elanga.
