Christian Eriksen’s status for Brentford’s clash with Newcastle confirmed

 

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has, on Friday afternoon, provided an update on the availability of Christian Eriksen.

Danish international Eriksen of course put pen to paper on a short-term deal in west London during the January window, with the Bees faithful, in turn, having since been eager to see the midfield conductor in action.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s upcoming Premier League with Newcastle United, boss Thomas Frank was therefore inevitably asked for an update on the fitness of the latest addition to his squad.

And, in a boost for all associated with the club, Frank went on to confirm that Eriksen is not only available, but will without question be afforded his debut in Brentford’s colours on Saturday afternoon:

Creative talents intact

Word of Eriksen’s imminent return to the Premier League stage of course comes with the former Tottenham standout fresh off the back of an impressive pair of friendly displays over the course of the last couple of weeks.

After bagging an assist in his first behind-closed-doors appearance for the Bees versus Southend, Eriksen followed up by laying on both of his side’s goals in a meeting with Rangers earlier this week, boding well for club and player alike moving forward.

All of this comes less than a year on from the 30-year-old bringing the footballing world to a standstill, after collapsing to the turf during the Euro 2020 meeting between Denmark and Finland owing to a cardiac arrest.
