Arsenal pulled off a gutsy performance to beat Wolves 1-0 on Thursday. The Gunners had not won a single game in all competitions in 2022 but held on for over 20 minutes with 10 men to seal an important win in their quest to finish in the Champions League qualification spots this season.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had almost a fully-fit squad to pick from.
Takehiro Tomiyasu was the only first-team outfielder unavailable, with goalkeeper Bernd Leno also missing after testing positive for COVID-19.
Arsenal knew they were in for a tough test against a resolute Wolves side who have the second-best defence in the Premier League this term.
In a game of few chances for either side, Gabriel scored the only goal midway through the first half.

Arteta responded by making a substitution almost immediately.
Rob Holding came on in the middle of defence and arguably was one of the Gunners’ best players on the night.
He, alongside Cedric Soares, was a real unsung hero for the visitors.
Holding, according to CBS Sports, made nine clearances in the 20 minutes he was on the pitch, three more than any other player in the whole match.
Tomiyasu’s performances since arriving last summer has meant the Portugal star has struggled for game time.
Calum Chambers, before his departure to Aston Villa, and even Ben White have been used ahead of him on the right of defence.
But Arteta backed Cedric at Molineux and he did not let him down.
Arteta has a limited squad to pick from for the remainder of the season.
And if they are going to finish inside the top four, he will need squad players like Holding and Cedric to continue to perform.
