Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has taken to his official social media platforms on Monday evening, to hit back at suggestions that the club’s shock win over Manchester City came owing to a masterclass in counterattacking.
Conte’s troops, of course, were responsible for the shock of the Premier League gameweek this past weekend.
This came as the Lilywhites made the trip to the Etihad to face champions Man City, eventually emerging on the right side of a 3-2 scoreline owing to a last-gasp Harry Kane winner:
WOW!!!! What a game this has been!! 🔥🔥
Just moments after Manchester City equalised from the penalty spot, Harry Kane blows the title race WIDE OPEN again with his second of the evening!

On the back of an evening of action which essentially blew the Premier League title race wide open, Spurs, in turn, were singled out for widespread, and altogether deserved praise post-match.
As alluded to above, however, amid such adulation, one particular piece of analysis to have evidently irked Antonio Conte came in the form of the suggestion that the Lilywhites’ latest triumph came owing to a perfectly executed counterattack-based display.
Taking to his personal Instagram account on Monday evening, the Italian, in turn, hit back at such claims.
Alongside a highlights package from the clash, Conte made use of the caption ‘Counterattacks?!? Maybe not…’ accompanied by a series of laughing emojis:

Clarets lie in wait
Turning attentions back towards the road ahead for Spurs, the capital outfit will of course be afforded little time to rest, ahead of their return to action this coming Wednesday.
The Lilywhites are set to make the trip to Turf Moor for a meeting with Sean Dyche’s relegation-battling Burnley, keen to build on a timely three-point haul last time out amid their pursuit of a top-4 berth.

Burnley, though, will prove no pushovers, with the Clarets fresh off the back of a stellar result of their own, in the form of a 3-0 downing of Brighton at the Amex on Saturday afternoon.
